Roller Blog software updated to 3.1

06:20PM May 05, 2007 in category Status by Chris Lewicki

I've updated the Blog software to Roller 3.1.  The first thing you'll probably notice is the new editor.  Apparently preview is better as well.  For other changes, check out the "What's new in Roller 3.1".

Along with the installation, I've added the full suite of themes, so check those out.

Guy previously set this all up, so let me know if I've broken anything with the upgrade.  You may need to update the search index in your blogs, as I've cleared the indexes with the upgrade.

It might be helpful if the more experienced blog users could comment on this entry with other useful new things they've noticed in the new release.

Comments:

1. Some themes seem to have lost their styling in the 800px resolution. Even this current theme is broken in 800px. And I can't fix it using the _css template.
2. Apparently what was already loaded is the full range of themes available for Roller. So, I don't see any changes in the themes listing.
3. I don't see any other changes.

Sorry. missed a few things -

1. the change in the loader is basically that a rich text editor (a better one, I must admit) has been put in.
2. the ability to podcasting is apparently hidden somewhere. there used to be something called - "media settings" which has disappeared somewhere.

Dunno if it works on the 800px yet. Have been looking around and I like what I see. The interface has improved considerably.

The tagging option is good. We need tag clouds now. Anyway, I'll dig around a little more and let you know.

No one else has anything to say?

BTW, your CSS is broken even in 1024 px. You might want to take a look at it.
