In 2007, scientists around the world are marking the
International Heliophysical Year and the
International Polar Year. IHY and IPY are focused opportunities to study the Earth's place in the solar system and the changes of the Earth's polar regions. Many of the tools used for these studies are based in space or based in the polar regions looking into space.
Students today can participate in the studies, follow on to find careers in relevant fields, and eventually become decision makers using the information from these studies. So, the
Students for the Exploration of Space Blogs is a place to mix all of this together -- IHY + IPY = Frozen Sun. Every other week is a polar or solar post by an expert in their field who will answer questions for two weeks. Don't be shy -- leave a comment or a question.
