The Lockheed Martin Space Day email list nudged me today with a reminder that Space Day is coming up on 2 May 2008.
The "original" space day -- and I wouldn't be surprised to hear there was an original original space day -- at Purdue University, Purdue Fall Space Day, will be coming up in October. I've posted a few photos from when I volunteered there -- despite the fact that it's Purdue -- in 2005 in the SEDS Gallery (I was helping with the solar powered rovers activity in 2005). It doesn't look like they've posted a date or program for 2008, but I will go out on a limb and say that there will be hundreds of third through eighth grade students and one of the many Purdue alumni astronauts in attendance.
PFSD was the inspiration for Illinois Space Day, which I'm happy to hear will be making its second appearance at the University of Illinois on 19 April 2008.
