SEDS International Conference 2007 : Press Release

Now from the other side of the globe, here is a message from the SEDS chapter at
the Vellore Institute of Technology -- the largest SEDS chapter in the world --
in Tamil Nadu, India. They are organizing the Students for the Exploration and
Development of Space International Conference (SEDSIC) in September, the annual
meeting of SEDS members worldwide.

* Fee: Rs. 500 for Indian national students; US$15 for international students
(registration will not be available until after exams at VIT, so mid-May)
Program:
* At night atop the VIT Tech Tower: star party with VIT's telescopes, HAM radio demonstration, and dinner
* Presentations by leaders in Indian space and technology programs, such as the Chandrayaan-I lunar mission, GSLV Mk-III heavy launch vehicle program, and the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research
* Career talk with professional scientists and engineers
* Preliminary Design Review of international CubeSat project SEDSAT-2,http://www.seds.org/sedsat2
* Update on activities from representatives of the various national branches of SEDS
Design Competition: Leading up to the event, SEDS will host a design competition. The topic: conceptual design of a series of small lunar rovers that fit in a 20kg payload.
THE WINNER WILL RECEIVE A HALF-TUITION SCHOLARSHIP TO THE INTERNATIONAL SPACE UNIVERSITY.
