SEDS-Earth update May 2007

I thought a small post to update the readers of this blog was necessary.

SEDS-Earth was created with the intention of being an international body of SEDS but ended up being a body of individual members from all over the world. As is well said, everything happens for it's own good.

This also has been a boon for us of sorts since now we can approach a wider community than we could have accessed before.

At this moment we have 1 technical and 1 non-technical project.

  1. SEDSAT2: SEDSAT 2 is a technical project which seeks to understand how a global community of students can work together on a technical project leveraging the new innovations in Internet. The team building the SEDSAT2 keeps the world updated of it's progress via its blog.
  2. Space Information Archive: This is our non-technical project where we hope to provide regional wise space related information to students seeking them. Data is still being added to this archive. However, we have released the Space Image Archive.
Besides these two projects, we also re-started the SEDS International Conference. With the help of the national chapter of Spain, we held our first meet in Valencia, Spain. This year India hosts the International Conference at the prestigious Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore, India. All are welcome!!
