SEDS-Nepal

Namaste! Here’s a short review of our chapter.

After we started as SEDS-Nepal this year, we made a few plans to be implemented soon, which included introducing more students to SEDS and its activities. But the works have not been able to go as fast as we have wanted to, primarily because of the political instability in the nation.Students at a program in Kathmandu Source: http://pixnepal.wordpress.com/

We do not have astronomy courses in colleges here in Nepal so we mostly rely on a few programs where we get to hear lectures from some of the personalities who have worked in this field. Even the amateur astronomy is at its earliest stages though we extensively organize programs for the public and school students. We work very optimistically that we can make the change by doing all these works.

As for now we are preparing for our visit to the SEDS International Conference to be held this September in India. We are very much excited to attend this event as it is close to our home. We take it as a great opportunity as we will get to meet our friends from all over the world and share experiences. We are also very much looking forward to hearing lectures from eminent personalities on this sector.
